  1. Where can i order a helicopter model that my dad can put together?
I wanna get my dad a helicopter model for christmas , please help ….i make minimum wage so not too pricey

    • Do you know what exact Helicopter model you want? Any on-line hobby shop would probably have, or be able to order the model of your choice. Note that the bigger the “scale” (size) of the model the more expensive they get.

  2. How do I remove a decal from a plastic model and and reapply it correctly?
I’m building a plastic model airplane right now and I just finished placing decals. After they dried I inspected my work and realized that one of the decals was placed upsidedown on the airplane. So I would like to know if anyway has any methods for removing the decal and reapplying it so it adheres correctly.
    Thanks

    • As “Helicopter” said… once a decal / transparancy is on and DRY… it’s STUCK !!

I’ve tried over the last 33 years to loosen them with wet Qtips, Qtips moist with decal solvent, SOAKING in water, in a water/vinegar mix… it NEVER works well.

My only suggestion is to write to the manufacturer and buy a replacement set of decals… OR buy some “after-market” decals from your hobby shop.

      GOOD LUCK

  3. How do you remove the main rotors on a CML Mini Vortex RC Helicopter?
Hi, a while back I bought a Mini Vortex heli from a model shop, and one of the main rotors has broken. I bought a replacement rotor but I don’t know how to remove the main rotor and fit the new one. I have searched all over the internet but have found no answers.

Do you know how to do it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! =]

    • good question… I dont know either… but seeing how the it is designed, you might need to take out the top rotor in order to do the bottom one, or just the top one if you broke the top one. Anyways… you say you have the replacement rotor. Look at what needs to be connected in the new main rotor and work backwards. Anything that needs to be connected in the new main rotor, take it apart from the helicopter itself and then figure it out. sorry, this is the best I could do… I dont have any good photos on the internet for me to see… maybe if you took some I could see.

  4. How can make my own helicopter?
    Hi all,
Can i make helicopter using car engine, blades, rotors etc.
    Thanks in advance.

    • Joey H has the right Idea….

Think about this… Once you’ve spent all the money in changing parts… welding.. retro fitting etc… (Not to mention the time wasted on testing, things going wrong etc)
Look at what you can have for a FRACTION of the price…
And it’s already been tested and you don’t have to risk your life or injury building and testing…
Just under $5000 (depending on Model..)
      I think that’s dirt cheap!

Ever thought of a GyroCoptor? Around $1000
      http://www.vortechonline.com/b1920/

Take-off and flight of the Kopter is under full piston-engine power. Takes off at 30 mph. Cruises at 60 mph, with a high speed of 85+ mph. Climbs at 1,000 fpm and will reach an altitude of 12,000 ft. Engines of as little as 35 hp may be used (with reduction drive), or up to 80 hp. If flown as an ultralight, the B-20 is free of licensing or certification requirements.
You wouldn’t have to worry about the FAA or training fees school fees etc.gyroplanes have outstanding safety records.

Even such critical parts as rotor blades, rotor hub and joystick may be constructed in a home shop from readily available raw materials, as detailed in the manual…
Get the blue prints.. if your as good as you think.. can HAND make one (Yeah there a certain satisfaction that comes with doing it ALL YOUR SELF.. I KNOW!)

      $100 blue prints… and 3 flying manuals …

Looks like fun…. If you DO IT, send me some pictures!

  5. Can I get into the radio controlled helicopter hobby for 200 dollars?
I am keenly interested in the radio controlled helicopter hobby. My question is this, can a beginner with no experience get into this hobby for around 200 dollars? I have seen compleat,” ready to fly kits “, on eBay selling for as little as $117.00, new! ” the Dragon 22E “. Which is an electric powered R/C helicopter, is this model a good beginners R/C helicopter kit ? The seller claims that everything needed to start flying is included in this kit package, is this true? Has anyone purchased this, or a similar kit ?
Since first posting this question, I have learned a lot about radio controlled helicopters. ” THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS AREADY TO FLY ” R/C helicopter. You need to understand how to set up your new R/C helio, before that first flight, and it is also good to understand how the real thing flys,” How Things Work.com is a good place to learn that “. You also need to be able, analyze what happened just before a crash,” and you will crash many times”, before becoming a top R/C helio pilot. You also need dealer, and company surport, + AFFORDABLE SPARE PARTS.

    • WOOOOOOO slow down man!!!Have you ever flown a R/C plane? You will never be able to fly a helecopter trust me.I fly the planes and they are extremely hard to learn at 1st.You could probably get a used one off ebay for that money, but i garunty even your local hobby shop guy will guide you away from flying a helecopter, you can also see if your hobby shop has a flight simulater, most do and try flying one one there. But if you’ve made your mind up and are going to get one i would suggest ebay or ..http://rcuniverse.com or http://rcjunkyards.com they have forums there to ask questions on ,also used rc items for sale.Good luck, and happy flying=)
